Stories from the vineyard
Here we write about what drives us: the varieties we have brought back to the vineyard, the people who work with them, and everything that happens between vine and glass. Without grand words, but with plenty of story.
On Friday, 26 June 2026, the Vitus winery, hotel and wines were presented in Mirkovec. The evening brought together friends, partners, associates and guests to mark a new chapter in the story of the indigenous grape varieties of Hrvatsko Zagorje, the wine, the place and the people who have been building this project over the years.
Albuelis is a brut sparkling wine by Vitus, made from Belina starohrvatska and Dišeća ranina, awarded 90 points and a silver medal at Decanter 2026.
Vitus rosé Volovina crvena won gold at the Vinske zvijezde magazine tasting with 93 points. A story of an old grape variety returning to Zagorje vineyards.
Vitus winery and hotel stand on a former manorial estate in Mirkovec, Croatia. The story of a restored curia, a neighbouring Baroque manor, and the place itself.
As part of the diWine project, we welcomed journalists and wine enthusiasts and introduced them to our production, the people behind Vitus, and the indigenous grape varieties we are bringing back to the vineyards and modern wine culture of Hrvatsko Zagorje.
An arboretum is taking shape around Vitus Winery, building on the century-old trees of the former manor park and the natural woodland-edge habitat. It is a story about the trees we found here, the species we are planting and an environment shaped by working with the character of the site rather than against it.
54 identified varieties, one almost-lost vine, and a project that returned Zagorje viticulture to the wine map. The story of the revitalisation of indigenous grape varieties of Hrvatsko zagorje.
What does the harvest of indigenous Zagorje grape varieties look like? From Belina starohrvatska to Modra kosovina, take a look behind the scenes of the harvest in the vineyards of Vitus winery in Hrvatsko zagorje.
It was once among the most important red wine varieties of northwestern Croatia. Then it almost disappeared. A single vine in an old vineyard near Zlatar marked the beginning of its return. The story of Modra kosovina.

5. Right of Unilateral Termination of the Contract
A customer who qualifies as a consumer has the right to unilaterally terminate a distance contract without stating a reason within 14 days from the day on which the goods were handed over into the possession of the customer or a third party designated by the customer, who is not the carrier.

A Customer exercising the right of unilateral termination of the Contract shall bear the direct costs of returning the goods. The Seller is not responsible for any issues with the delivery service used by the Customer for the return, and the Seller advises the Customer to request a shipment tracking number. This allows the Customer to ensure that the product has been delivered to the Seller. The Seller is not responsible if the Customer returns the product to the wrong address.
Pursuant to the Consumer Protection Act, the Customer is responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling the goods, except for handling that was necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functionality of the goods.

The Seller will refund the paid funds only after the product has been returned. Once the Seller has established that the returned product meets all return conditions, the refund will be made using the same means of payment used by the Customer when making the payment.
